ClayPrinting:
Cornell Summer1 - 2
This is a clay printer I built mostly for fun, but there is some exciting research I am working on with it. I based the extruder design on Cera1, but edited it slightly to match what I needed. Origonally, I was going to use a Robotic arm as my printer, but University Bureaucracy got in the way so here we are. I am using an old printer I found in the recycling. I rewired the printer to an Octopus Pro V1.1 for motor control and a Pi for the heavy lifting. I wrote a custom grasshopper plugin and accompanying bridge to enable grasshopper to send real time commands to the printer. That can be found here and the documentation for the printer itself can be found here so that you can build one for yourself. And if you want to see more realtime/raw upates, that can be found in this ongoing slide deck.
